Twilight Tulips Returns to Crystal Hermitage Gardens

Each spring, the hills above Nevada City come alive with color as Crystal Hermitage’s world-famous tulip gardens reach peak bloom.

For over a decade, I’ve hosted a small, private photography experience here during tulip season. What began as a casual gathering has evolved into something more intentional: Twilight Tulips.

This is not a typical public visit.

Twilight Tulips takes place after regular garden hours, when the walkways quiet down and the light softens into golden hour. Colors deepen. Shadows lengthen. Compositions open up.

The evening begins inside the tulip gardens and concludes at a nearby elevated sunset location for expansive Sierra foothill views.

Two dates this season:

• April 24 – Photo Walk #2

Each evening is limited to 30 photographers.
