Why After-Hours Matters

Photographing the tulips during public hours can mean crowded walkways and limited composition control. Twilight Tulips takes place after the gates close, when the gardens are quieter, the light softens, and the atmosphere shifts.

This is when the colors deepen, shadows lengthen, and the landscape opens up for intentional photography.

What to Expect

The Experience

Twilight Tulips is a small-group, after-hours photography experience designed around light, timing, and access. The evening begins before sunset inside the Crystal Hermitage tulip gardens, where we take advantage of golden hour and the quieter atmosphere once public hours end.

As the light softens, we transition into twilight shooting, when colors deepen and the gardens take on a more cinematic feel.

Guided Photography

This is not a lecture-style workshop, but guidance is available throughout the evening if interested. I will offer optional direction on composition, positioning, lens choices, and how to work the landscape for stronger images.

You are free to move at your own pace. The group size is intentionally limited to maintain mobility and space for clean compositions.

All skill levels are welcome.

Sunset Bonus Location

Following the garden session, we drive to a nearby elevated sunset location for expansive foothill and sky compositions.

This final segment offers a completely different perspective and lighting scenario, giving you a well-rounded set of images from the evening.
